In May 2022, Major Dmitry Lovtsev, as part of a combat detachment, left on a business trip to the Special Military Operation zone. Extract from the award list: “...intelligence information was received about the transfer of large enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to the area with the aim of carrying out terrorist attacks on territory controlled by the RF Armed Forces.” Dmitry Lovtsev, as the most trained specialist, was assigned to the task of finding and neutralizing them.
On August 4, 2022, the officer’s life was cut short. For courage, heroism and dedication, Dmitry Lovtsev was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously).
