Lieutenant Ivan Aleksandrovich Vorobyov was assigned to the city of Morozovsk, Rostov Region, to the position of crew commander of a Su-24 aircraft. There, a young family had a son, Roman, and three years later, having received a new assignment, the Vorobyovs settled in the city of Budennovsk, where Ivan Aleksandrovich, with the rank of captain, flew a Su-25 aircraft.
In October – November 2021, Ivan Vorobyov participated in a military operation in Syria and was awarded the medal “For participation in hostilities in Syria.” He jokingly told his family that he was digging potatoes in the Moscow region.

In November 2021, Ivan Aleksandrovich Vorobyov was awarded the rank of major, he received the position of flight commander, and the young family purchased a two-room apartment in the Moscow region using a housing certificate.
Major Ivan Aleksandrovich Vorobyov was shot down on March 4, 2022 in the Volnovakha area, near the village of Beryozovka, Donetsk People's Republic.
He was buried in the military cemetery in the village of Staroye Tarbeevo.
