Brigade Commander - Major General
Unit: 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, 51st Donetsk Combined Arms Army, 8th Guards Combined Arms Army, Southern Military District
Cargo ID: #1400
Call Sign: "Vulcan" (Вулкан)
English Name: Pavel Yurievich Klimenko
Russian Name: Клименко Павел Юрьевич
Klimenko was accused of setting up a torture camp in Donetsk where, according to media reports and relatives of victims, Russian soldiers were tortured and had their salaries taken away. This is reportedly the same torture camp where Russian propagandist (and American traitor) Russell Bentley [Cargo ID #1232] was tortured to death. The general's former subordinates also accused him of sending soldiers on "meat assaults."
Donetsk human rights activists reported that the command of the 5th brigade, which was commanded by the general, issued powers of attorney to their close associates and took payments for themselves for the death of their soldiers. Also, according to relatives of the dead, sick mobilized soldiers were sent to the front lines to participate in assaults instead of receiving treatment.

The official story of his death is that a group of servicemen, including Klimenko, were attacked using FPV drones near a checkpoint in the village of Krasnogorovka in the DPR. The general reportedly received shrapnel and blast injuries, and his skull and hip were damaged. He was hospitalized in the 14th city hospital in Donetsk, and from there to the Republican Traumatology Center, where he died.
Some Telegram channels noted that “When delivered, Klimenko’s body did not have any thermal or shrapnel injuries characteristic of an explosion. The general was diagnosed with multiple fractures (pelvis, hip, ribs) and a head injury. All injuries are typical of accidents involving motorcycles,” and, according to eyewitnesses, Klimenko died in a motorcycle accident while under the influence of alcohol.
The doctors who tried to save the life of a high-ranking occupier were intimidated and forced to hide the real cause of death. The accident occurred on the evening of November 6 near the city of Krasnogorovka, near Donetsk. The general and two other subordinates were riding motorcycles at high speed. Being very drunk, Klimenko crashed into a ditch. His companions were not injured. " Despite the facts, the military's conclusion on the circumstances of Klimenko's death included an indication that he died "as a result of... fire damage using an FPV drone." And to explain the inconsistencies in this version, they added in the conclusion that "as a result of the blast wave, Klimenko was thrown into a ditch along with his motorcycle"
The initial documents on the incident state that on November 6 at approximately 19.30 Pavel Klimenko was returning to Donetsk in a group of three motorcyclists.
In the area of the eastern outskirts of Krasnogorovka, the general and his motorcycle drove off the road at high speed, where he received serious injuries. Privates Yevgeny Ampilogov and Yevgeny Pak (two other motorcyclists) provided first aid to Pavel Klimenko on the spot and by 20:00 they had taken him first to the 14th hospital, and an hour later, when the military leader's condition worsened, he was transferred to the Republican Traumatology Center. At 22:00, the general was pronounced dead there.
