From the first days of the special operation, Andrei Sukhovetsky was sent to Ukraine. Almost immediately he fell near Mariupol. The soldier was killed four days after the start of the SVO.

It is reported that it was necessary to occupy a height near the city. Major General personally supervised the fighting. The enemy suffered serious losses. As a result, foreign mercenary snipers were ordered to eliminate the brave commander. Andrei Sukhovetsky was hit by a bullet from one of the snipers.

The soldiers carried the commander from the battlefield and handed him over to the medics. However, they could not save Sukhovetsky.

"With great pain we received the tragic news of the death of our friend Major General ... He did not live to see his 48th birthday for exactly four months," Sergei Chipilev, a colleague of Sukhovetsky, wrote.
