At the time of his death, Kondrashkin was the commander of the 85th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, and the 31st Separate Air Assault Brigade was under his command for only a few days, and is currently being deployed into a division. Kondrashkin had replaced Colonel Alexander Gorin [Cargo ID #870] as commander of the 85th after Gorin was killed.

In 1996 he entered the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelov. In 2001 he graduated from college.
After graduation, he was assigned to the 51st Guards Parachute Red Banner Order of Suvorov Regiment named after Dmitry Donskoy, 106th Guards Airborne Tula Red Banner Order of Kutuzov Division.
In 2002, he took part in the counter-terrorist operation in the Chechen Republic.
After serving in Tula, Andrei Kondrashkin served in the 137th Guards Parachute Regiment in the city of Ryazan, and then in the 217th Guards Parachute Regiment in the city of Ivanovo.
In 2011 he entered the Military Order of Lenin and the October Revolution, the Red Banner, the Order of Suvorov Academy named after M. V. Frunze. In 2013 he graduated from the academy.
From 2015 to 2019, he commanded the 108th Guards Airborne Assault Kuban Cossack Order of the Red Star Regiment of the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Red Banner, Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov Divisions (mountain).
In 2019, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Red Banner, Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov Divisions (mountain).
From 2020 to 2021, he was the commander of the 56th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Order of the Patriotic War of the Don Cossack Brigade. Guards Colonel Andrei Kondrashkin is the last commander of the 56th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade, as the brigade has been reorganized into a regiment and relocated to the city of Feodosia, Crimea.
Since 2021, he has been a student of the Military Order of Lenin, the Red Banner, the Orders of Suvorov and the Order of Kutuzov of the Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.















During his military career, he has come a long way, took part in the counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya. At the end of August last year [2022], he was seriously wounded in [Ukraine], he was recovering for several months in the hospital. Then he immediately went back to the front.
