Ivan managed to get to the dugout, where he died from his wounds. The daughter also told her parents that already in February she knew about Ivan’s shrapnel wound below his left shoulder blade, a photo of which she received from his fellow soldiers, but did not upset her mother and father. But my brother chose to refuse hospitalization and underwent treatment literally on his feet."
