Status Corrected - Initial reports on September 26th indicated that Eliseev had been shot twice (including once in the head), at point blank range, by a sawed-off shotgun. All initial reports claimed he had been killed.

Later information indicated he actually survived the attempted murder. Eliseev was found to have injuries to both lungs, fractures of the ribs and clavicles, wounds to the lumbar muscle, internal bleeding. The patient was connected to the ventilator, and had to be placed in a medical coma. The disaster medicine team flew to him to Irkutsk, but due to the non-flying weather, the doctors had to land in the city of Bratsk and do the remaining 200 kilometers by car. On the evening of the next day, the military commissar was transferred to the regional hospital in Irkutsk.

Remarkably, Eliseev was discharged from the hospital on November 14th, 2022. Ruslan Zinin, the mobilized man who shot Eliseev, was sentenced to two months in prison.

Alexander Eliseev was discharged from the hospital on November 16, 2022.
