Additionally, the name of S. Kens was linked to the scandal of the conviction of servicemen of the 33rd JSDF, who refused to carry out the malicious orders of the Kremlin in 2014. At that time, Kens, while serving as acting commander of the brigade, cynically maintained that the servicemen of the Maikop brigade were not sent to the Donbass and that there are no Russian troops in Ukraine. He was one of the initiators of the criminal proceedings for "desertion" against the soldiers who refused to carry out non-legitimate commands.
On February 21, a memorial plaque to Sergei Nikolaevich Kens
was unveiled in the lobby of school 422 in Kronstadt.
