With great sadness and sorrow I inform you that our countryman Roman Borisovich Igolkin died in the performance of his duty during a military special operation to help the Luhansk and Donetsk people's republics.
 
We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. It is a great pain for all of us, a great sorrow, which is difficult to put into words.
 
Igolkin Roman Borisovich was born in 1979 in the village of Velikoarkhangelskoe. He went to the first class of the secondary school Velikoarkhangelsk in 1987. He grew up to be a good sportsman, more than once defended the honor of class and school at various competitions. I dreamed of becoming a military man, and was preparing for it. I was respected among my classmates. In 1996 he graduated from 10th class and entered the Air Force Academy named after N.E. Zhukovskiy and Y.A. Gagarin. Upon graduation in 2002 he was assigned to the village of Seryshevo in the Amur region, where he served until 2009 in the distant aviation units in the command positions: platoon leader, company commander, battalion commander. From 2009 to 2016 he served in Shaikoka, Kaluga Oblast, as a battalion commander of the flight support battalion of the long-range aviation bomber regiment. In 2013, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. From 2016 to 2021 he was transferred to the National Guard troops of the Southern Federal District. He served as deputy logistics commander of a mixed aviation regiment. In August 2021, he was discharged. On February 7, 2022, he was again drafted into the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In March, he left to carry out air defense tasks in Ukraine. Awarded with decorations of the Russian Federation. Was killed on July 3, 2022 in Melitopol in the performance of combat tasks of the air defense forces.
 
Roman Borisovich will always remain the example of courage and bravery, fidelity to duty for all of us. Eternal memory!
