In 2022, the major general was found guilty of facilitating smuggling. According to the investigation, Ildar Saidov illegally authorized the departure of a ship that had been seized in an administrative case and also, in exchange for a bribe, assisted in the unimpeded clearance of goods for a company. For his actions, the court sentenced him to seven years in a high-security penal colony and imposed a fine exceeding 10,000,000 rubles.

According to the Investigative Committee, in 2020, Saidov received 2.1 million rubles from a representative of LLC "San Light-Astrakhan," Jivanshir Mamedov, through intermediaries—head of the Astrakhan Customs Post, Maxim Gorbatov, and the first deputy head of Astrakhan Customs, Oleg Galichkin.

In 2018, while the court was reviewing an administrative case concerning the violation of customs procedures by the ship repair company "Alliance-Shipping," Saidov exceeded his official powers, according to the cited report. Acting in the interests of the owner of the seized vessel "Genrikh Gasanov," he authorized its departure from the port to Iran.

According to Ildar Saidov's wife, they never believed in his guilt and consider that he was framed. While in prison, the former high-ranking customs officer decided to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense and go to Ukraine.
