Andrey Dmitrievich Simonov served in EW units as an operational duty officer, platoon commander, head of the command post, deputy battalion commander for operational work.

  • In 2000 he graduated from the Frunze Military Academy. After the Academy, he worked his way up from a senior officer of the SibVO electronic warfare service to the head of the EW service of the headquarters of the regional command "Vostok".
  • In 2010, he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff and was appointed to the position of Chief of the Electronic Warfare Service of the Headquarters of the Western Military District.
  • Since August 2014 — Deputy Chief of the EW Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

He was awarded nine medals of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including the medal "For Military Valor" of the I degree

"As a result of a powerful blow to the forward command post of the 2nd Army of the Russian occupiers in the Kharkiv region, Russian Major General Andrei Simonov was eliminated. According to sources close to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the general was destroyed as a result of a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Izyum area."
