Vladimir Miroshnichenko

While the documents recovered from Vladimir's corpse indicate a rank of Major, several VDV affiliated channels refer to him as a Lieutenant Colonel (see below). Given his promotion to Major on July 17, 2019, it is a reasonable timeline that he would make Lieutenant Colonel by the time of his death in late 2023.

We assess it is likely he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel while deployed in Ukraine, and did not receive updated documents before being killed. In light of this, we are upgrading his rank to Lieutenant Colonel, though we caution there is a possibility this is incorrect.
