“When a company of marines was pinned to the Irpen River by enemy fire, there were many wounded. Our artillery ran out of shells, and the [AFU] pressed on. Major Borisov came to the rescue. Using a BREM vehicle and two BMP-3s, he broke through to his surrounded colleagues. So that people could cross the river, he drove one of the infantry fighting vehicles into the water - it became a “bridge” for the surrounded Marines - they crossed under enemy fire. Everyone came out and carried out the wounded. The sailors and officers simply idolized Yura Borisov for this rescue."
