Note (Dec 27, 2022): We believe the initial reports of him being the commander of the 39th brigade to be incorrect, but do not yet have enough evidence to overrule what is written in the primary source. Marat was previously the commander of the 39th, but was relieved of command and sent to prison several years ago. He was let out to serve in Ukraine, and we believe he was promoted to command of the 37th after the fragging of its previous commander, Colonel Yuri Medvedev [Cargo ID #42].

Evidence collected by the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on the Birobidjan garrison was recognized by the court as sufficient to convict the commander of military unit 61424, Colonel Marat Hajibalaev.
He is convicted of crimes under in part 3 of article 286 ( abuse of power committed with grave consequences ), part 2 of article 292 ( service forgery, entailing a significant violation of the interests of the state ) and part 2 of article. 290 of the Criminal Code ( receipt of a bribe ).
The investigation and the court found that in September 2014 Hajibalayev signed consignment notes containing inaccurate information about the allegedly received 576 cubic meters of solid fuel, which was the basis for an unjustified transfer to the supplier's account of over 1.6 million rubles. In addition, from April to June 2015, Hajibalayev received money from a subordinate soldier as a bribe for a total of 80 thousand rubles.
The Birobidzhan Garrison Military Court of Hajibalaev was sentenced to 4 years in prison with serving in the correctional colony of the general regime and the right to occupy positions related to the performance of the functions of a representative of the authorities, as well as organizational, administrative and administrative functions in state bodies and local self-government bodies, for a period of 2 years.
