"Ruslan Yunusov, who became Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin several years ago, died in the war in Ukraine at the end of January . His data was on the list of paratroopers from the Pskov 76th Airborne Assault Division killed in the vicinity of the village of Rabotino. Information about the death of Yunusov (Prigozhin) was confirmed to the Agency by his brother’s wife.
Details. The list, which included 296 names, was published by the military telegram channel “Spy Dossier”. Prigozhin Evgeniy Viktorovich, number 195 on the list, was the only one with a second surname, first name and patronymic - Yunusov Ruslan Fetikhovich. In February, the administration of the Terengulsky district of the Ulyanovsk region reported about the death of Yunusov in the war in Ukraine. In the community of residents of the Starokulatsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, on January 22, Yunusov was called “our fellow countryman from Novaya Tereshka” (the post has now been deleted , but screenshots have been preserved ).
The woman did not answer questions about how Yunusov was recruited and why he ended up in the Airborne Division. At the same time, she confirmed that he had a second name - Prigozhin. According to the Agency’s interlocutor, Yunusov changed his documents in 2018.
▪️In April 2019, Fontanka wrote about the full namesake of the founder of the Wagner PMC. The reason for the publication was the arrest of Yunusov-Prigozhin for participation in the robbery. He, together with Pyotr Piron, for whom he worked as a security guard, under the guise of FSB officers, broke into the apartment of an entrepreneur involved in cryptocurrency transactions and forced him to give them 5 million rubles in cash and transfer 55 million rubles worth of cryptocurrencies. Piron and Yunusov threatened the man with detention and torture.
▪️Fontanka then found out that Yunusov changed his last name, first name and patronymic a year earlier - he received a passport in the name of Prigozhin on May 26, 2018. In the past, according to the publication, Yunusov served in the SOBR and criminal investigation department, and participated in military conflicts. Before his arrest in 2019, Yunusov explained the change of name by the “type of his activity” as a security guard.
In 2020, Prigozhin-Yunusov received 8 years in prison for robbery (the court sentenced Piron to 10 years in prison). In August 2023, he was still serving his sentence in the Komi Republic: while in the colony, he tried to return his previous last name, first name and patronymic, the BBC Russian Service wrote . The court rejected his claim.
▪️In the same publication, the BBC Russian Service called Yunusov one of three famous Prigozhin doubles. In 2018, in addition to him, the passport of the full namesake of the founder of the Wagner PMC was received by the general director of the Engineering.ru company, Dmitry Alekseevich Alekseev. After that, he quit his job and no longer managed legal entities. In 2020, Leonid Nikolaevich Krasavin, general director of the Elektrotekhsnab company, became Evgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin."
