Sayan Balzhievich Dorzhiev was called up to the Northern Military District during mobilization and underwent training. He completed training as a sniper. Recently, he served as acting battalion commander and was constantly on combat missions. On the night of September 2-3, his unit came under mortar fire. While he and the group were helping the wounded and pulling the dead out of the rubble, the enemy covered the group with a mortar burst. Saiyan received a fatal wound to the chest.

During a special military operation in the Northern Military District near the village of Klishchiivka on the night of September 2-3, Major Sayan Dorzhiev from Novoselitsy, Novgorod region, was killed.

According to his assignment, the young lieutenant went to serve in the city of Borzya, in the Trans-Baikal Territory, where he began working in a military unit as a conductor of a garrison orchestra.
