A real Russian officer, Andrei Andreevich was at the same time a serious scientist, candidate of technical sciences, vice-president of the Integra-S consortium, a developer of digital intelligent security and facility management systems. But already in the fall of 2022, Major Privalov realized that he could not remain in the rear and volunteered to go to the front. He fought in the ranks of the Wagner PMC as an instructor in UAVs and electronic warfare, suppressing many enemy drones in the battles for Bakhmut. (He also authored/co-authored a number of scientific papers)
