- Alexander Shvetsov began his service in the armed forces of the Russian Federation as the commander of a rocket artillery platoon in the 2nd Guards Taman Motorized Rifle Order of the October Revolution Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Motorized Rifle Division.
- From 2011 to 2013 he was commander of a rocket artillery platoon of a rocket artillery division.
- 2013-2019 - commander of a rocket artillery battery of a rocket artillery division
- 2015-2016 participated in a special operation on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic
- 2019-2021 was chief of staff, deputy commander of a separate anti-tank artillery battalion.
- In 2021, he was transferred to a higher position - division commander of the 4th Guards Order of Lenin of the Red Banner Kantemirovskaya Tank Division named after Yu. Andropov.
- From 2021 to the present, he was the commander of a howitzer self-propelled artillery battalion.
