****Status Corrected** \- Given the location, date, and circumstances of the images of the corpse below, we now believe they are [Major General Vladimir Petrovich Frolov ](https://topcargo200.com/187/)[\[Cargo ID#187\]](https://topcargo200.com/187/), and not Oleg Mityaev. During the awarding of Frolov's posthumous Hero of Russia medal, it was reported that he died while personally leading an assault on the Illich Iron & Steel Works in Mariupol on March 15, 2022\. This matches perfectly with the corpse below. While it is still possible this story was concocted to cover for the death of two generals at once, we assess the chances of this are quite low.   
  
True to form, the Russians bombed the Donetsk Regional Drama Theatre, which was sheltering hundreds of civilians, the next day in apparent retaliation for Frolov's death.

Reported to have been killed on March 15, 2022, at the Illich Iron & Steel Works in Mariupol, by the Azov Special Task Force who provided photographic evidence of the kill (included at the bottom of this page, though now believed to actually be the corpse of Major General Frolov).
