Killed in a [HIMARS](https://topcargo200.com/tag/himars) strike on the command post of the 6th Separate Cossack Motor Rifle Regiment (6SCMRR) of the LPR's 2nd Army Corps. He was attached to this unit since the first day of the war, though he was still officially a part of the 11th Separate Guards Air Assault Brigade.  
  
To further confuse the matter, in January 2023 the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that all LPR/DPR units would be incorporated into the Russian Armed Forces. During this process, the 2nd Army Corps was renamed the 2nd Guards Army Corps and became subordinate to the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army. The 6SCMRR was renamed to the 6th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade (6SGMRB), and remained a part of the 2nd Guards Army Corps.
