Status Corrected - On March 2, 2022, Major General Nyrkov was CASEVACed in critical condition after taking a sniper shot to the gut. He eventually recovered, but his wounds were serious enough to prevent him from returning to combat duty.

Nyrkov survived his wounds, but they were serious enough that he is unable to return to combat duty. He has been transferred to an Air Defense unit outside of Moscow.
