Drawing from his personal experiences and those of five fellow veterans from Michurinsk, Borisov provides an in-depth narrative of the challenges faced by Russian forces in "maintaining stability" along the southern borders of the former Soviet Union. The book spans nearly 600 pages, shedding light on a relatively obscure chapter in Russian military history.
